About the conversation

Intimate and sexual violence is a community, not an individual, issue--the impacts of which are often far-reaching and lifelong.


In this info session and community conversation, we’ll address sexual assault and intimate harm in the context of community and explore the complexities surrounding these community issues. Together, we’ll challenge the cultural myths that often silence survivors, name the barriers many face within the criminal legal system, and explore the need for restorative, community-based responses to harm. We’ll introduce Consentric Circles—a healing and learning framework developed by Healing Courage that centers survivor wisdom, deep listening, and meaningful dialogue as tools for transformation.


We’ll also share about the exciting new initiative launching in our county for older adults (ages 50+) that aims to address harm through restorative practices, with a focus on healing, accountability, and repair.
